And the Shepherd Sang, is the memoir of Colin MacDonald, a shepherd brought up in Strath Halladale, Sutherland, who spent most of his working life as a shepherd in nearby Kildonan and wrote his memoirs after retiring in 1971.

Join us for an evening spent in the company of his son, Alex, who edited and published his father's memoirs earlier this year. Hear some of Alex's own memories and stories about his dad, as well as the treat of hearing Colin's words and anecdotes as relayed by his son.

'And the Shepherd Sang', was originally the title of a song Alex had written about his dad and on the 21st Alex will also be singing and playing some music for us, followed by refreshments and book-signing.
