Ringwood Publishing are delighted to announce Writing Historical Fiction – Forgotten Voices, an upcoming event at Typewronger during Book Week Scotland.

The event will take place on the Monday 13 November at 7pm, and invites a panel of our writers to discuss their work. How is history written, and rewritten into novels? Can 'fact' and 'fiction' be blended together? How can novels help us understand the past, and interrogate its biases?

Join us for an evening of readings, discussion, and Q&A's with some of Ringwood's finest historical fiction writers: Flora Johnston, Rob McInroy, L.A. Kristiansen and Carol Margaret Davison. We will explore how these writers delve into Scotland's past in their writing – allowing readers to rediscover the lives and stories that don't make it into the history books.

The location is unfortunately down some rather steep stairs in a ground-floor portion of an Edinburgh townhouse, and so is inaccessible for wheelchair users, though those with limited mobility may be able to manage at their discretion. We will also be livestreaming our event on Facebook, and so will be able to facilitate questions from online attendees so they can also be involved in our event.
