Born 1961 Northumberland. 1980-81 Art Foundation Newcastle upon Tyne. 1981 - 84 BA Hons Graphic Design Exeter college of Art.  1985-86 Illustrator for Northern Counties school for deaf children.  1984 - present freelance illustrator for publishing, design and editorial.  I have written and illustrated 4 books, and illustrated over 100 books for children.  I am married with 2 children.

About writer's work

I work in brush, pen and ink, watercolour and crayon.  Mostly funny stories for children.  Sometimes historical, animal, countryside themes.  Traditional and folk tales.  I have worked with most major London piublisher and also the Tower of London, Museum of London and National Maritime Museum.  Currently working with Floris books, Edinburgh, on childrens' picture book 'Bagpipes, Beasties and Bogles.  Also illustrating for Royal Society science website titles 'Invigorate' and 'Read Write' Oxford University Press Phonic Series.
