To Make a House a Home

Author: Glasgow Women's Library

To make a house a home, you need to love in it:
arms open, ears listening, collecting positive feelings,
Making a place to rest, recharge and find your inner peace, again.
To make a house a home, paint the walls with memories:
Playing board games round the kitchen table with your son,
Those tiny shoes, leather dried so hard.
To make a house a home, it must hold you:
Sitting in the morning shafts of light, as their arc shifts,
As you tread the route from hearth to thistle.
Allow time for the space to settle lightly around you.
