Ah wiz lookin forward tae space travel, an a visit tae Mars
caurs that drove themsels, an trips tae the stars,.
ah`d planned whit ah`d wear when ah stepped oan the moon,
ah`d an outfit, picked oot fae a shoap in the toon.

Ah wiz lookin forward tae robotic men,
who did aw the work, cloacked aff at ten,
who didnae need fed, just plugged in the mains
an there wiz ither wieys o hivin yer weans

Ah wiz lookin forward tae no needin money
where nae rain fell, an the world wiz jist sunny,
when ah could be beamed oot o oany place
an every wean hid a smile oan their face

Ah wiznae lookin forward tae a world oan fire
an lives being flung on a food-bank pyre
where the colour o skin wiz a reason tae hate
where cruelty seems a permanent state

Ah wiznae lookin forward tae noah like rain,
wae some folks lives just flushed doon the drain,
where aw o` oor greed has melted the ice,
an some folk are paeyin a terrible price

Ah wiznae lookin forward tae mean, moothed, men
oan that capital hill, an in oor number ten,
when did we allow they madmen tae thrive,
an whit dae we dae tae keep freedom alive?

Ah`m lookin forward tae an alien invasion,
that might stoap us, chinege the situation,
ah might then get that trip tae the moon,
ma outfits’ aw ready, cannae cum too soon

Ah`m lookin forward tae geein wimmin a chance,
we’ve nuthin tae loose, let’s try a new dance,
ah don’t hate men, jist think it’s oor turn tae lead
let’s gie it a birl wae a different heid.
