Scottish Friendly Children's Book Tour with Phil Earle: Surrounded by Stories

We are surrounded by stories, every day of our lives. All we have to do is keep our eyes and ears open

Phil Earle is the award-winning author of When the Sky Falls. Set during the Second World War, as it escalates and bombs start to fall, Joseph is charged with protecting Adonis the gorilla. This nerve-shreddingly tense thriller is inspired by a true story.

This event is great for both keen and reluctant readers and writers alike. Phil uses gentle humour and hard-hitting stories to captivate pupils of any literacy level.

Phil will talk about how his ideas come from everywhere. Every day Phil sees stories unfolding all around him and he will show your pupils how to tune their senses and unlock this limitless source of inspiration for creative writing.

Phil will tell us about his background, how he became an author and talk about some of his other books, like his award-winning first novel Being Billy and the Mind The Gap.

Following the latest Coronavirus restrictions, this live virtual event will go ahead with a limited schools audience. We'll then share a recording of the event on our website to watch on demand. Applications are open to anyone who wants to join live.
