Scottish Friendly Children's Book Tour with Brian Conaghan (in-person)

Brian Conaghan was a teacher for many years teaching in Scotland, Italy and Ireland before the becoming an award-winning author. He is best known for his books When Mr Dog Bites, shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal, The Bombs That Brought Us Together, winner of the Costa Children's Book Award, and Cardboard Cowboys.

Brian was (in his own words) an academic disaster when he was a pupil at school and left with one O Level. This event will appeal to both keen and reluctanct readers and writers alike. Brian will talk about his journey from school, to teaching to becoming an author who writes about young people facing challenges such as homelessness, Tourette Syndrome, bullying, fleeing war and being a young carer, to name a few.
