Scottish Friendly Children's Book Tour: Joseph Coelho at Orkney Library

Multi award-winning poet, playwright, author, and Waterstones Children's Laureate, Joseph Coelho is coming to Orkney, the Western Isles, and Highland for a week jam-packed with fantastic school and library events.

During his visit to Orkney Library, Joseph will talk about his journey to becoming a poet and share his poems and stories to make you smile, laugh, feel brave and more! Joseph will share tips on creating your very own poems using his unmissable Poetry Prompts(this will open in a new window), which he launched during his time as the Children's Laureate in partnership with BookTrust – so you can become a poet too!

When: Monday 15 May 2023. While two times are displayed in the application, only one event will be available on the day. Please indicate which time is best for your school. You can choose if you'd rather attend at 10.30 or 13.30.

Who: Primary schools

Where: Orkney Library

Cost: Fully funded

Audience: P1–4 (Rural schools with a smaller school roll are welcome to include older pupils too.)

Audience size: 45 pupils, 5 members of staff

Deadline for applications: Wednesday 29 March, 12 noon
