Two images in one - On the left, the cover for Ghost Orchid (forest green background dotted with flowers, a small girl in an orange raincoat with a camera around her neck, white text). One the right, a headshot of Fiona Lumbers, looking at the camera, wearing a black and white shirt and red lipstick. She has blonde hair and green eyes.

Fiona Lumbers is joining the Scottish Friendly Children's Book Tour for a week of exciting school events in Midlothian, Dumfries and Galloway, and the Scottish Borders.

Fiona Lumbers is a much-loved author (Clem and Crab, Grandpa's Gift) and illustrator (Luna Loves. . ., The Secret Sky Garden) who has been drawing on everything and anything since she was small. During her visit to your school, Fiona will share her latest stunning picture book, Ghost Orchid, all about learning to notice the small things that make life magical, and valuing the journey just as much as the destination.

For larger events with multiple year groups, Fiona will share the story interactively and lead a draw-along, followed by time for questions and discussion to inspire your pupils to try their hand at illustrating their own stories. For slightly smaller groups, Fiona can lead drawing or craft sessions related to Ghost Orchid, including creating imaginative drawings of pupils' own explorer backpacks. We will also have a selection of Fiona's picture books available at a discounted price for sale and signing.

You will need a way to display PowerPoint slides stored on a USB, a flipchart and pens for Fiona, and pencils and paper for participants.
