We head to Europe for the Connected: Continents series
Author Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara has a simple message: Be Bold, Be Brave, DREAM BIG!
Growing up in Barcelona in the 1970s, Maria's heroines were Pippi Longstocking, Momo and Tinkerbell. Forty years later, she set about inspiring young children across the world through her award-winning book series exploring the stories of real-life heroines. Little People, BIG DREAMS introduces children to artists, authors, trailblazers, activists and dreamers from across history and all around the world.
In this event, Maria will take us on a whistle-stop tour of Europe to visit some of the great European figures showcased in the series, including Greta Thunberg, Rudolf Nureyev and Marie Curie. We'll then have a live Q&A with Maria before she gives an exclusive reading of Little People BIG DREAMS: Carmen Amaya. This book is all about the Spanish flamenco dancer Carmen Amaya and is not yet published in English. There will also be a Europe-themed activity sheet for event participants to complete.
Following the latest Coronavirus restrictions, this live virtual event will go ahead with a limited schools audience. We'll then share a recording of the event on our website to watch on demand. Applications are open to anyone who wants to join live.
