Join award-winning designer, author and illustrator Ken Wilson-Max for an event celebrating our roots, family, equality and mythology all with a pinch of magic and fun! Ken will also bring some special guests LIVE from Africa!
This event will celebrate how people are more similar than they are different, the emotional connections between us and the importance for children to see themselves in the books they read.
Ken was born and raised in Zimbabwe and has been championing writing talent from Africa ever since moving to the UK. As well as live readings and drawings, Ken will be joined by writers from across Africa, turning this event into a mini-festival of stories and celebration!
This special event is open to schools in Scotland and countries across Africa. All schools participating will have the chance to start an exciting new relationship with a partner school from a different country. Please state in your application whether you would be interested in connecting with and taking part in activities with a partner school.
Following the latest Coronavirus restrictions, this live virtual event will go ahead with a limited schools audience. We'll then share a recording of the event on our website to watch on demand. Applications are open to anyone who wants to join live.
