Getting back to Bookbug Sessions
We are delighted that Scottish Government Coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions are starting to ease and Bookbug Sessions are able to resume. While Sessions will look a bit different, they are still a fun, free, accessible activity for mums, dads and carers to enjoy with their little ones.
We have filmed two Bookbug Sessions, one outdoors and one indoors, to demonstrate how Sessions can be modified and delivered in a COVID-safe way. We hope these films will give Session Leaders some hints and tips to help them get started with running their own Sessions again when their organisations’ own Health and Safety Risk Assessments allow. Please read our Coronavirus guidance for Bookbug Session Leaders for more information.
We also hope these films will show families how Bookbug Sessions might look when they return in their area and help them to feel confident to attend. Parents who have had a baby during the pandemic may not have seen what an in-person Session looks like so we hope these films will give them a taster and encourage them to join a local Session when they become available.
Please note, these Sessions were filmed in Edinburgh on 25 May 2021 under Scottish Government Level 2 Coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions for Organised Activities for Children.(this will open in a new window)
Bookbug finger puppets used within the films will be available to families in July 2021 as part of our upcoming Bookbug Summer of Play campaign. These puppets require adult supervision for babies under 12 months.
