The Gruffalo in Scots and Gaelic

Celebrate 20 years of the Gruffalo with readings in Scots and Gaelic on Thursday 21 November.

Join us for a very special Book Week Scotland Authors Live to celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson, with readings of the iconic picture book in Scots and Gaelic. This is an excellent opportunity to celebrate Scotland's indigenous languages and learn some new words in Scots and Gaelic!

James Robertson will read his Scots translation of The Gruffalo, discuss what it's like to translate picture books and teach us some great Scots words.

Catriona Lexy Campbell, author and playwright, will bring the Gaelic translation, An Gruffalo, to life and help us all learn a little Gaelic.
