Tune into Authors Live events together from home and join the conversation using #BBCAuthorsLive on Twitter.

Authors Live brings free, world-class author and illustrator events for children and young people right into your home. All our broadcasts are available to watch anywhere on Authors Live On Demand.

From Tuesday 31 March, Scottish Book Trust and BBC Scotland Learning will host a virtual watch-along every Tuesday and Thursday at 11am.

Join families all over Scotland to watch our scheduled programme of broadcasts and use our learning resources. You can also talk about the event online with everyone else watching; simply follow @Scottishbktrust(this will open in a new window) on Twitter and use the hashtag #BBCAuthorsLive(this will open in a new window). You might even get to chat with some of the authors!

Schedule

Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11am, running for 6 weeks:

Tuesday 31 March, 11am Phil Earle: Hear about Phil's brilliant Storey Street books, which explore themes of friendship, bullying, mental health and wellbeing. Suitable for ages 8-11.

Thursday 2 April, 11am Chae Strathie: Join Scottish author Chae Strathie for an interactive event complete with songs and fantastic readings from Chae's stories. Suitable for ages 3-6.

Tuesday 7 April, 11am Joseph CoelhoJoseph shares his picture book, If All The World Were, and leads an exciting activity to help you create your own poetry. Suitable for ages 6-8.

Thursday 9 April, 11am Malorie Blackman: Join the best-selling author of Noughts and Crosses to discuss why reading matters, and get some top tips for teens on creative writing! Suitable for ages 12+.

Tuesday 14 April, 11am Liz PichonFeaturing lots of giggles and doodles, author and illustrator Liz Pichon explores the world of her well-loved character, Tom Gates. Suitable for ages 8-11.

Thursday 16 April, 11am Nikesh Shukla: Hear about Nikesh's powerful novel The Boxer, the impact of experiencing racist abuse, and how sport can empower young people. Suitable for ages 12+.

Tuesday 21 April, 11am Tracey Corderoy and Steven LentonHave your drawing supplies at the ready for a fun-filled event with the team behind the hilarious Shifty McGifty and Slippery Sam books. Suitable for ages 6-11.

Thursday 23 April, 11am Nick SharrattLearn how illustrator Nick Sharratt creates well-loved characters, such as Jacqueline Wilson's Tracy Beaker and Kes Gray's Daisy. Suitable for ages 6-11.

Tuesday 28 April, 11am Julia Donaldson, Julia brings to life some of her best loved heroes and villains with costumes, puppets and song. Suitable for ages 3-6.

Thursday 30 April, 11am Kwame Alexander: Join multi-award winning author Kwame Alexander for a compelling discussion about his books and the power of poetry. Suitable for ages 12+.

Tuesday 5 May, 11am Emily MackenzieDraw along with this fantastic event, featuring a wonderful reading of Emily's picture book There's Broccoli in My Ice Cream! Suitable for ages 3-6.

Thursday 7 May, 11am Lauren St John and Elizabeth Laird: Explore the importance of looking after the oceans, and hear all about where these amazing authors get their inspiration from! Suitable for ages 6-11.
