James Oswald is the author of the bestselling Inspector McLean series of detective mysteries. They have been incredibly popular and very well-received by both the public and the critics. The first two of these, Natural Causes and The Book of Souls were both short-listed for the prestigious CWA Debut Dagger Award. As well as his books featuring Inspector McLean James has also created Detective Constable Constance 'Con' Fairchild, whose debut was in the acclaimed No Time To Cry.

James also writes as J D Oswald; this fantasy series follows the adventures of a young dragon, Sir Benfro. As if all of this creativity wasn’t enough James also farms Highland cows. His past jobs include Wine Merchant to International Carriage Driving Course Builder via Call Centre Operative and professional Sheep Sh*t Sampler (true). His latest crime book is All That Lives which is part of the Inspector Mclean series.

Join us for an evening with this fascinating crime writer extraordinaire as part of our Book Week Scotland 2022 programme as he discusses his work
