Lanark Universal Connections will be hosting a Book Inspired Afternoon Event on Wednesday 17th November 2021 from 12pm to 5pm. This event is free and is open to all - adults and families. The afternoon will include a Free Lunch with food inspired from famous books to enjoy - sandwiches cakes and more! There will be a free raffle with many great prizes including book tokens, books to inspire reading and many others, arts and crafts to try out on the day, quizzes and a book table for you to take a book away and get reading.

On the day there will be Meet the Authors - who will be coming along to talk to us bout their great books and inspire us to get into reading & writing, Darren McGarvey - Poverty Safari & Iain Yuill - Poems and Po-Yums. A great chance to meet them and find out more!

Each evening at 8pm on our Lanark UC Facebook Page - a young person from our centre will read a story/poem which has been written by pupils from Lanark Primary School. All pupils from Primary 6/7 submitted entries to help us celebrate Book Week Scotland and you will be able to see all of these on the 17th.

On the evening of the 17th young people in our centre will be taking part in a celebration also, including book inspired food, arts and crafts and listening to storytelling of ghost stories!
