In the dark, uncertain times we find ourselves living though it is easy to assume that all the news is bad and that only the very worst of us will thrive. Join Ruby Wax and Rutger Bregman as they explain why they are looking at things differently.

Ruby Wax OBE is an American actress, mental health campaigner, lecturer, and author. Her new book And Now for the Good News encourages us all to find the green shoots of optimism and change.

Rutger Bregman is a hopeful Dutch historian who rocked Davos by challenging the attendees to even mention the word taxes, advocated for Universal Basic Income in his book Utopia for Realists, and who in his latest book Humankind, sets out to prove that human beings are by nature kind, friendly and cooperative.

Ruby and Rutger are joined in conversation by chair Heather Parry.

This event is a pre-recorded film. Book your ticket now to ensure you receive a link to watch live or on demand.

Accessibility information: British Sign Language, closed captions and a transcript are available.
