You Have All You Need is Jonathan Liddell's debut book about Ellie, for 6-12 year olds. Ellie lives on the magical island of Descendora, which looks like many small Scottish islands, with her Uncle Dutch and a few furry and feathered friends. In this story, Ellie's feelings threaten to crush her. When self-doubt and heightened emotions overcome her, she does something she regrets, but soon learns who and what she can turn to make her feel good again.

In this this video, Jonathan reads the whole story in an outdoors setting, by and around a woodland river in Ayrshire. He is inspired by Scotland’s landscape, wildlife and nourishing outdoor spaces. His stories focus on “relatable challenges and how to overcome them, nodding to the small joys in life” with humour and sensitivity, as he celebrates families and friends.

Jonathan is a fine-art Artist who holds a Masters in Art, Society & Publics. He has worked closely with children of all ages, including those who find themselves in difficult life circumstances, through various teaching roles and his bespoke creative-writing workshops, which he plans to run online until life returns to normal.

Join him by the riverside, and meet Ellie.
