The Selkie Publications CIC (www.theselkie.co.uk(this will open in a new window)) presents a creative writing workshop for underrepresented poets in Scotland. Explore the world of the lyric 'I' and (semi-)autobiographical poetry with your award-winning guide, Alycia Pirmohamed, poet of Faces that Fled the Wind and Hinge. Within this 1.5-hour interactive workshop, you will explore how we perceive the world around us depending on our own subjectivity as well as how we invert the expectation of typical autobiographical storytelling and reveal through lyricism and imagery.
This workshop is aimed at poets at all writing levels – no prior experience necessary! This workshop is only open to underrepresented writers aged 18 and above based in Scotland (for more information, please see theselkie.co.uk/info/about/(this will open in a new window)).
The workshop fee is £5. We have reserved some free spots; if you would like to apply for these, please mail Sonali Misra at firstname.lastname@example.org(this will open in a new window).
If you would like to learn more about essay or crime writing instead, check out the other 2 Book Week Scotland workshops offered by The Selkie, in collaboration with Rianna Walcott and Claire Askew. Please note: you can only attend 1 of the total 3 workshops brought to you by The Selkie.
