Writer and broadcaster, Lesley Riddoch, teams up with Reforesting Scotland's Thousand Huts campaign for this lively online launch of her new book, Huts - A Place Beyond. For many years, Lesley has asked the question, 'Why does Scotland have 500 huts while Norway has 500?' Couldn't simple recreational huts bring many benefits to this country?
In writing the book, Lesley relived her own bothy experience, rediscovered lost hutting communities, and traveled through hytte-covered Norway. In this event Lesley and the Thousand Huts campaign suggest that thousands of humble woodland huts would give Scots a vital post-covid connection with nature and affordable, low-impact time in their own beautiful land – at last.
This online event will include a presentation by Lesley and a question and answer session on all things hutting.
