Join Gutter magazine this Book Week Scotland as our panel demystifies literary magazines and shares top tips for submitting! Gutter has been around for over a decade, publishing new poetry and prose from upcoming and established writers alike, and in that time we've learned what makes a great submission - and what doesn't! In this panel discussion, Gutter editors Kate MacLeary and Ryan Vance will be joined by writer Sean Wai Keung to demystify the submissions process and share what makes a really great pitch.
This event is ideal for new writers ready to take the plunge in submitting their writing to magazines for the first time, or those who'd like to brush up their pitching skills. Drawing on their industry experience as successful editors and writers, our panel will discuss how to get writing ready for submission, what editors look for, and how to deal with rejection.
This event will take place via Zoom. Participants who sign up via Eventbrite will be emailed the Zoom link on the morning of the event.
