The Selkie Publications CIC (www.theselkie.co.uk(this will open in a new window)) presents a creative writing workshop for underrepresented writers in Scotland. Explore the world of essay writing with your guide Rianna Walcott, writer, researcher, and co-editor of The Colour of Madness. Within this 1.5-hour interactive workshop, you will learn the fundamentals of the genre and practise, using some samples drawn from an exemplary essay by Stuart Hall. You’ll also get the chance to ask Rianna all your essay writing (or general writing!) related queries. This workshop is aimed at writers new to the essay form – no prior experience necessary!
This workshop is only open to underrepresented writers aged 18 and above based in Scotland (for more information, please see theselkie.co.uk/info/about/(this will open in a new window)). The workshop fee is £5. We have reserved some free spots; if you would like to apply for these, please email firstname.lastname@example.org(this will open in a new window).
If you would like to learn more about crime writing or self-portrait poetry instead, check out the other 2 Book Week Scotland workshops offered by The Selkie, in collaboration with Claire Askew and Alycia Pirmohamed. Please note: you can only attend 1 of the total 3 workshops brought to you by The Selkie.
