The Survivor Arts Community hosts a creative writing workshop for self-identifying female survivors of sexual violence and domestic abuse aged 18+. This workshop is for survivors who are cis and trans women, as well as non-binary people who are comfortable in a space that centres the experiences of women. A trained support worker will be present.

The online workshop, run by novelist and poet Angie Spoto (www.angiespoto.com(this will open in a new window)), will provide guidance and space for participants to write their own poems or stories in response to published writing that embodies emotions, giving them shape and form through imagery. The workshop will begin with a close reading, followed by a brief discussion about how emotions can be embodied through creative writing and exercises that guide participants in writing their own poem or story. The workshop will provide a space for participants to connect with one another and become inspired.
