The Selkie Publications CIC (www.theselkie(this will open in a new window).(this will open in a new window)co.uk(this will open in a new window)) presents a creative writing workshop for underrepresented writers in Scotland. Explore the world of crime writing with your award-winning guide, Claire Askew, poet and author of Novelista and the DI Birch crime series. Within this 1.5-hour interactive workshop, you will learn the fundamentals of the genre and practise, and you’ll also get the chance to ask Claire all your crime writing (or general writing!) related queries.

This workshop is aimed at writers new to the crime genre – no prior experience necessary! This workshop is only open to underrepresented writers based in Scotland (for more information, please see theselkie.co.uk/info/about/(this will open in a new window)).

The workshop fee is £5. We have reserved some free spots; if you would like to apply for these, please email sonalimisra@theselkie.co.uk(this will open in a new window).

If you would like to learn more about writing essays or self-portrait poetry instead, check out the other 2 Book Week Scotland workshops offered by The Selkie, in collaboration with Rianna Walcott and Alycia Pirmohamed. Please note: you can only attend 1 of the total 3 workshops brought to you by The Selkie.

Accessibility information: Please contact the organiser in advance.
