Join our book group members for an evening of sparkling conversation with three local authors. Stella Hervey Birrell is an award-winning poet and writer based in Pencaitland, East Lothian. She is the 2019 poet in residence for Lanterne Rouge Cafe, Gifford and has edited and funded an anthology of poetry in support of St Columba's Hospice. Her poetry and prose has been published by Scottish Book Trust and the Dangerous Women Project.

Charlie Laidlaw worked as a street actor, baby photographer, puppeteer and restaurant dogsbody before becoming a national newspaper journalist. He may not have won the Pulitzer prize but he has enjoyed considerable success as a novelist. He lives in East Lothian, where his three novels are set.

R.L. (Rebecca) McKinney is the author of two novels, The Angel in the Stone and Blast Radius, as well as short stories, poetry and the occasional blog post. Her writing explores contemporary political and existential questions through fictional voices. She currently has two novels in progress, one dealing with the effects of climate change in her native state of Colorado, and the other a paranormally infused crime noir story based in Edinburgh. She lives in Midlothian with her family.
