Following the recent landmark publication of his new book The Rise and Fall of the City of Money, we invite you to join award-winning journalist Ray Perman for a colourful conversation on the heroes and villains of banking and finance in Edinburgh, from the Darien disaster of 1700 to the present day.

The event is free and taking place in the George Washington Browne Room at Edinburgh Central Library, so please book in advance if you want to be there as spaces are limited. Tickets are available through the library’s Eventbrite page.

A book stall from Blackwell's will be in operation prior to and after the event for a short time.
