Hamish Brown has lead an extraordinary life. As one of Britain's most accomplished hill walkers of the past 50 years, he is a true expert in mountain culture, best known for his walking exploits in the Scottish Highlands. Not only has he explored Scotland and many other mountain areas across the globe, he has helped others to do the same and find the same sense of satisfaction. He has also had a remarkable childhood – in this illustrated talk, he'll tell us about his book, East of West, West of East, which gives an account of his family's time in Japan at the outbreak of World War II.
