My debut novel Mary's the Name was released by Cranachan Publishing in January 2017 and was shortlisted for the Saltire First Book of the Year Award. The novel is entirely told from the point of view of eight year old Mary Sutherland, an orphan who lives with her Granpa in Stirling. When her Granpa gets mixed up in a robbery at his work, the pair flee to the Isle of Skye, but trouble soon follows.
My second novel Sonny and Me is a young adult novel released in May 2019. Told from the perspective of 16 year old Billy Daughter, the book tells the story of two best pals in fourth year uncovering a murder within the staff at their high school. Both my books share themes of family, friendship and growing up, as well as the use of Scottish dialect and humour.
I would be pleased to do readings from my novels, give advice on writing, and lead discussions and workshops. I'm available to visit all authorities accessible by public transport from Glasgow.
