I am a teacher of English, education lecturer, training provider and writer. I have a wide experience of working with adults and young people, supporting education and writing in schools and beyond. I have judged national children's writing competitions, produced educational materials to support classroom practice and delivered in-service on the development of creative writing to serving teachers in both primary and secondary schools.

I am an experienced reader of my work, and have spoken publicly about writing, mental health and a range of political subjects. I have expertise in facilitating Philosophy with Children sessions and working with pupils of varying abilities. I am National Coordinator for the Scottish Association for the Teaching of English (SATE).
