Margaret Montgomery trained and worked as a journalist and later became a lecturer and tutor. Her specialisms are literature, creative writing and media. She has worked with students of all ages and abilities at universities and colleges in the UK and abroad. Her poetry and fiction has been shortlisted in a number of competitions and her first novel, Beauty Tips For Girls, was published in 2015 by Cargo.
Margaret has created and delivered numerous workshops and courses for writers, many of whom have gone on to publication. She also enjoys working with vulnerable adults and young people, focusing on the therapeutic benefits of reading and writing. Between 2004 and 2008 she managed a community literacy and numeracy project. Margaret is registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland to teach in schools and has PVG membership.
