Laura Lam's headshot

My name is Laura Lam and I'm an author of science fiction, fantasy, and romance. My books include the award winning Micah Grey trilogy (Pantomime, Shadowplay, Masquerade), near future thrillers False Hearts (a BBC Radio 2 book club selection) and Shattered Minds, and space opera Seven Devils, co-written with Elizabeth May. Under the name Laura Ambrose, I self-publish romance. I've also published short stories and essays. My work often features diverse and marginalised characters, with a particular focus on gender roles and identity.

By day, I'm a creative writing lecturer on the Creative Writing MA at Edinburgh Napier. I am comfortable lecturing on all aspects of writing craft as well as the traditional and self-publishing industries. I have given over 60 visits, workshops, and appearances at festivals, and dozens of bookstore and book club events. I'm friendly and engaging and love working with teens and adults.
