I am a retired Scottish primary headteacher and published author. My work is designed to promote self worth. Ups an Doons is a collection of poems in modern spoken Scots, where children talk about their lives, issues, joys, and challenges. Also available is a collection of stories, Big Heid an ither Ewen stories, The Meggie stories, The Mingins, Return o the Mingins, and Manky's Story, all having themes that children can relate to, and all life affirming.

The poems and stories are freely available on at the Scots Language Centre website under Resources. All have teachers' notes supporting discussion.

'See me' and 'See you' Scots poetry-writing workshops for middle/upper primaries are done with Jill Bennett, my co-author of Walkin the Rainbow, and cover children's lives and friendships.
