Coo Clayton's headshot

Coo Clayton is a primary teacher and author of Maggie's Mittens and Maggie's Monsters. Raised in Fife but now living in Edinburgh as a primary teacher, Coo lives with her three young children who help inspire her writing.

Maggie's Mittens and Maggie's Monsters are Scottish themed picture books aimed at ages 2-7. They fit perfectly with a Scottish topic as well as travel and nature. They both focus on a wee girl called Maggie travelling around Scotland. She's on an adventure visiting various iconic locations, statues and animals along the way.

Coo brings her story sessions alive with puppets, props and follows them up with plenty art and craft activities. Coo loves sharing her stories with a young audience and has visited a number of Schools, nurseries, libraries and festivals all over Scotland over the last few years.
