Cheryl Follon
Over the last 10 years, I have worked with a vast number of college and university students of all ages, mature students and graduates. I have helped the candidates to produce strong written work of their own in the form of poetry, short stories, non-fiction, essays and dissertations.
I have also worked in the broader community with many writers' groups. I was chosen as a writing mentor by the Scottish Book Trust.
Bloodaxe Books published my latest poetry collection Santiago in 2017. My poems have appeared in The Herald, The Dark Horse, the Times Literary Supplement, and on BBC Radio 4 amongst other places. My first two poetry collections are Dirty Looks (2010) and All Your Talk (2004), both published by Bloodaxe Books. I was shortlisted for The Spectator's Shiva Naipaul Memorial Prize for my non-fiction. I have been the recipient of three Scottish Arts Council Writers' Bursaries.
I am happy coordinating and conducting writing workshops, mentoring, and taking part in short-term residencies.
