Anna Doherty's headshot

I'm an Edinburgh born, bred and based picture book author and illustrator. I studied Illustration BDes at DJCAD and Children's Book Illustration MA at Cambridge School of Art. I like using limited colours, and mixing working on paper and digitally. I particularly adore working on non-fiction picture books, because I really like the idea that people might learn from them and also I get to absorb new facts as I write the story.

I've had experience working with adults and young adults in picture-book-making workshops, and also with younger children, making crafts, drawing, and playing games. Outside of picture books I enjoy popcorn, dogs, and cycling super-fast downhill on my bicycle.
