This broadcast celebrates the life and work of Roald Dahl and features a whoopsey-splunker, whizz-popping, swizz-figgling party celebrating all things Dahl! You will hear from a host of authors on what they love about Roald Dahl books, as well as enjoying readings from some of his best known titles by poet Laura Dockrill and author Jonathan Meres. You will also enjoy Marvelous Medicine science experiments with Jonathan and get a sneak peak at some Roald Dahl role play!
If you only do one thing
We know time is tight, so here is just one activity you could do with your class before or after watching the event.
"If you like this book try..." bookmark LIT 2-11a, ENG 2-27a, EXA 2-06a
This is a great way for pupils to recommend titles to each other. Ask each pupil to decide on their favourite Roald Dahl book. What do they like about it? Can they think of any other similar books they like? Ask pupils to create a bookmark to leave in their favourite Roald Dahl book either in the school or public library. It should tell a future reader about another similar book they might enjoy reading and explain why. Make the bookmarks as colourful and eye catching as you can!
