If you only do one thing

We know time is tight, so here is just one activity you could do with your class before or after watching the broadcast.

Ask pupils to choose a favourite moment from one of Michael's poems and work in pairs or small groups to create a still image. Get them to show their images to the class and see if they can quote the exact line/s from the poem that the still images are trying to show. Pupils could add sticky notes to say what the character is saying, thinking, feeling, and share these with the class too, or take a digital photo and annotate it or add speech and thought bubbles.
