If you only do one thing

We know time is tight, so here is just one activity you could complete with your class before or after watching the broadcast.

Word wall LIT 2-21a

In the broadcast Cerrie talks about her favourite words from books that she heard as a child, but also long words she finds hard, like dyslexia. Create a word wall in your classroom. You can decorate it however you like, perhaps as a tree with the words on leaves or a blue sky with words in clouds. Start by asking pupils to think of their favourite words and add these to the display. Next, ask pupils which words they don't like or struggle to spell. Add these to the wall too. Pupils can use the wall as a prompt during class for these more challenging words. You can change the display regularly and add new and different words to increase pupils vocabulary.
