Job Title: School Communities Sharing Sensory Stories Project Manager

Contract: Full time (35 hours), Permanent

Salary: Grade 4 £27,000 £29,499

Job Summary

The School Communities Sharing Sensory Stories Project Manager will work closely with the wider Scottish Book Trust programme teams to strategically plan and deliver an annual programme supporting children with Additional Support Needs to experience and enjoy the life changing power of stories and books. The Project Manager will develop resources for teachers and parents and project manage specific targeted activities like artist residencies and sensory storytelling workshops. The Project Manager will also manage a small grants scheme and plan, programme and deliver an annual Inclusive Stories Festival / Roadshow.

The post holder requires significant experience, knowledge and understanding of learning support and education policy in Scotland, as well as a strong background in project management. Additionally, it would be beneficial for the post holder to have experience working with children in an Additional Support Needs setting.

The Sharing Sensory Stories Project Manager is line managed by the School Communities Manager (Outreach) and is funded for 3 years by Mohn Westlake.

The post is based at Scottish Book Trust offices in Edinburgh – the role will be working remotely with designated access to the office until further notice.

The post-holder must be prepared to undertake travel across Scotland, from time to time travel elsewhere in the UK, including occasional overnight stays.

The post will involve working with young people therefore, appointment will be conditional upon securing Full Disclosure level clearance from Disclosure Scotland.
