Radio Drama - Industry Lab

Applications for the Radio Drama Lab are now closed

Scottish Book Trust is delighted to be working with BBC Scotland Radio Drama on the Radio Drama Industry Lab 2017.

BBC Scotland Radio Drama has established a strong track record producing a wide range of drama for BBC Radio 4, Radio 3, Radio Scotland and Radio 4 Extra. Working with writers in Scotland and beyond, the department's output is both original and international.

The Radio Drama Lab is aimed at professional writers looking to expand their skills and experience. While focusing on radio, the lab will explore writing drama in general: What makes a really engaging stage play, radio play, TV or film screenplay? What ingredients do you need to make your drama a "must listen" or "must watch"?

There are eight spaces available on the Lab. The Lab will be run over five days and participants must be available to attend throughout the duration of the Lab.

The Lab will include a mixture of practical workshops and projects and talks from experienced radio producers and writers. The Lab will also include a recording-based day during which writers will have the chance to hear their work being rehearsed and recorded by professional actors.
