About Rebel

Rebel Rebel, pick up your pen!

As part of our annual campaign to get Scotland writing, we are asking people to write their pieces on what Rebel means to them.

It doesn’t matter if it’s skiving school in the glory days of your youth, taking a stand against the establishment or pinching the last biscuit from the tin, we want to know what Rebel means to you.

Rebellion incites opposition and change, allows us to find our own individual voices and inspires future generations to challenge convention and expectation.

Even if you’ve never written before, give it a try! We encourage you to submit up to 1,000 words in any form you like – story, poem, comic strip, play or letter – and we welcome entries in English, Scots and Gaelic.

Our favourite stories will be published in an e-book on our website for Book Week Scotland 2018

Please read our terms and conditions before submitting your work.
