Vivian French Hallowe'en 2008
On Hallowe'en we took one hundred children (many dressed as witches or vampires and even one Grimm Reaper)down to The Caves in Edinburgh's Old Town to meet the wonderful Vivian French.
Vivian spoke to the children about her books and she read extracts from her Royal Mail Awards nominated book Robe of Skulls as well as from her latest adventure Bag of Bones.
Pupil Comment
On the 31st October we went to see Vivian French. She told us about her books and she said that if we wanted a character name, we just needed a pet's name and a street name. Vivian French gave us ideas of how to write well, she told us that she often planned her story out by starting with the beginning, then end, then middle. If we used interesting words like fantastic instead of good the read would like to read the story. There was a pumpkin carved out as the shape of Lady Lamora. We were very lucky because we were the very first people to hear some of her new story 'The Heart of Glass'. It was WONDERFUL!!!! We all enjoyed it. Thank you very much Vivian French!
