Authors Live: Philip Ardagh

We were joined at the Edinburgh Festivals by award-winning author Philip Ardagh for a hilarious, and somewhat disgusting Authors Live broadcast!

Philip told us all about his book series The Grunts, which is illustrated by Axel Scheffler, as well as sharing a rather unusual writing tip and answering questions from our studio audience.

Learning resources are available to use alongside this broadcast, helping you to explore Philip's books with your class.

A full transcript of this event is available here.

COMPETITION: Win a signed Philip Ardagh book for your school. As well as getting Sian Bevan's name wrong rather a lot of times, Philip Ardagh also told a deliberate factual error related to Norse mythology. (Well, he said it was deliberate but that could be a lie too.) If you spot it, send your name, age and school address to prizes@scottishbooktrust.com by 30 October 2017, when one lucky winner will be chosen at random. All entrants must reside in the UK.
