Authors Live: Matthew Fitt

We were joined by author and translator Matthew Fitt to celebrate 100 years of Roald Dahl!

Matthew spoke to us about the Scots language and how he has translated some of Roald Dahl's most popular stories into Scots. We got to hear him reading a section from one of these stories, Chairlie and the Chocolate Works, and Matthew even helped us come up with some new sweeties that we might find there using Scots words!

Tune in to discover more about the world of Scots language and hear Matthew answering questions from pupils across the country.

Our free learning resources can be used alongside this broadcast to help you explore Matthew’s Scots translations of Dahl’s stories in your classroom.
