Author: Alaa Al Aswany
Synopsis
Story about the lives of residents of a building in downtown Cairo in modern-day Egypt.

My Story

This book taught me a lot about contemporary life in Egypt and what it is like to be Muslim in this day and age. There is poverty and corruption but still people strive and aspire to be better.
As soon as I finished it I wanted to start all over again to appreciate the many angles all over again.
I would recommend this book to anyone - especially someone who enjoys learning about other cultures.
