My Story

At primary school, I was never one for reading books at all, even the little ones with lots of pictures. Reading and writing in class bored me, I had no motivation for learning to spell or use grammar correctly. However, when I was ten, in year six, my teacher read a chapter from the first Harry Potter: The Sorting Hat. I found myself fascinated, and excited and nervous for the characters! A book had never made me 'feel' before. By the end of that school year, not only was I thrilled about being put into my own house at secondary, but I was also immersed in reading more and more books, and creating my own stories and little worlds. If it wasn't for that book, I certainly wouldn't be taking English and Creative Writing at degree level today.
