Jacquie Gibson's story about Twilight
« Back to The Book That Changed My LifeDeeply sensuous and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight captures the struggle between defying our instincts and satisfying our desires. This is a love story with bite
My Story
Vampires...are real.
As humans we love to believe in the unbelievable and what can be more unbelievable than vampires with their supernatural gifts, mesmerising powers and their thirst for blood... human blood, as in 'Twilight' by Stephanie Meyer.
She touches on a whole different side of vampirism; intrigue, romance and seduction, a side I'd love to be a part of. It's a cray dream I have, but I'd love to be a vampire, live for hundreds of years and live through more life experiences than could ever be possible to conceive.
Stephanie Meyer writes about vampires in a way that you can feel the tension, the passion, the pain and the tormented love between a vampire and a human.
Such powerful and vivid imagery allows me to see and feel the emotions in my mind, so much so that it hurts not to feel them in real life.
The atmosphere in the book haunts your mind long after you have put the book down. Twilight is like a drug that makes you feel good, giving an escapism for as long as I wish, with no harm to myself.
It frees me from the stresses of reality, if only for a short while, allowing relaxation and letting my imagination run riot.
For myself this takes me back to my childhood, where I was described as living in a fantasy world...a day dreamer...or am I?
