My Story
This was the first children's book I read that wasn't written by Enid Blyton and was a step up in maturity. It introduced me to a whole series of books by the same author and he became my favourite author for the next decade. He also inspired me to become a writer. While I was at boarding school I used to recite back the stories he had written, after "lights out" and when I had run out of his stories I used his characters to create more stories. Plagiarism I know, but in my defence I was only 11. My passion for literature and writing started at this time in my life and has never left me. I am embarking on a MA in Professional Writing soon, whilst trying to get my first novel published. I can trace this turn of events right back to Malcolm Saville.
