Diana Sofia Gamio's story about Tuesdays With Morrie
« Back to The Book That Changed My LifeThis is the story of Mitch's last days with his old college professor and friend Morrie who is dying from ALS. Morrie is an amazing, inspirational and wise man who teaches Mitch about what really matters in life.
My Story
I read this book recently and I completely fell in love with it. I really felt as if Morrie was teaching me about life rather than teaching Mitch. I could connect with Morrie's aphorisms and felt uplifted by his warm words of wisdom.
At the time that I read this book, I was going through a bit of a rough time. I had broken up with my boyfriend who was also my best guy friend and I felt as if all my friendships were falling apart. I was becoming too wrapped up on the fact that my relationship with him had ended because of no apparent reason and found myself constantly thinking about things related to him. It seemed as if I had no time to spend with my family or the people who truly cared about me; but this book was my wake-up call. It helped me remember that regret is irrelevant in life where as forgiveness and love are everything. I realized once again, and I say once again because I did know this at one point before my break-up, that making the most of now was necessary and that I could be surrounded by love without having my ex-boyfriend around. I remember that it is important to give people chances - as many as they need, but I cannot physically change them.
I simply love this book.
