Lady Chatterley's Lover

Lady Chatterley's husband has been injured fighting in the war and is no longer able to fulfil his marital duties, so she goes out wandering around her estate and forms an unlikely alliance with a grumpy gamekeeper on the rebound from a bad marriage. Lawrence was attempting to capture the zeitgeist of the relationships of his era in this novel but it was initially banned for being too salacious.
